Discover the root cause to your pain…
Are you tired of spending countless hours attempting to alleviate your pain with little to no success? Have you been to numerous doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, and physical therapists just to be told there is no explanation for your pain?
Well, you came to the right place!
What is Fascia?
Fascia is widely known across doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, and physical therapists. However, this technique incorporates 3 vital components to restoring your fascia for rapid and long lasting results.
You can think of fascia like plastic wrap. It wraps around every little thing in your body, including:
Muscles
Bones
Nerves
Blood vessels
Organs
Tendons
Ligaments
Joints
This “plastic wrap” holds the structure of your body together, which allows your muscles to contract and stretch. It provides a smooth surface for your muscles, joints, and organs to slide against each other without creating any friction or tears. It also protects nerve endings from being directly exposed.
When the fascial system becomes dehydrated everything becomes stagnant, toxins become trapped, and movement becomes stiff – resulting in pain. Since the fascial system is one interconnected, uninterrupted system, when one part of the system is affected it impacts the entire system. For example, unhealthy fascia, aka, “plastic wrap” will crinkle up into a ball which can pull the body out of alignment, cause muscle compensation, pinch nerves, restrict blood flow, and create pain. When we release these balls of “plastic wrap” it restores space and allows blood flow, hydration, and realigns your body. It creates the ideal condition for the body to realign and heal itself.
What Causes Fascia to Become Unhealthy?
Repetitive movements (overuse) Sports skills or every day work required movements
Lack of movement (underuse)
Stress! Internal state affects your external body
Trauma: either physical or emotions
Ignoring an issue and developing compensation patterns
3 Vital Components to Restoring Fascia:
Compression and cross fibering:
Fascia release allows for deeper compression, access to a larger surface area, and intentional fascial shearing, resulting in long lasting change.
Engagement of the nervous system:
The brain and fascial system are physically interconnected because fascia wraps around nerve ending which allows communication between the two systems. Your nervous system will turn off if it doesn’t feel safe. Often times when we experience pain, our nervous system turns off to protect us from exacerbating injury or re-injury. Engaging the nervous system in a safe manner allows the body to interrupt poor movement patterns and for the brain to learn you can access that range of motion safely.
The site where you are experiencing pain is rarely the source of the problem:
Fascia release focuses on the root cause to your pain. When certain parts of our fascia are unhealthy, it creates pain and dysfunction in other areas of the body.
Unhealthy and Restricted Fascia Contributes To:
Tendonitis
Plantar fasciitis and foot pain
Low back pain and herniated discs
Knee pain
Plateaus in athletic performance
Pulled muscles
Upper back pain and rib pain
Shoulder pain
Neck pain and headaches
Exercise induced aches, pains, and stiffness
Carpal tunnel and hand numbness
Pinched nerves/nerve pain/sciatica
Hip pain
Overuse injuries (such as Golfer’s or Tennis Elbow, Runner’s Knee, shin splints, etc)
Limited range of motion
Aches and pains from pregnancy or postpartum
